With the 2004 self-release of their 11-song CD "Picking Up the Pieces", Shattered Bliss- frontman/guitarist Mike Dodson, guitarist Eric Ostrander, bassist Denny Nickles and drummer Eric Kegley - earned some more-than-respectable radio airplay ("Away from You" was a favorite of local DJs), and a definite uptick in interest from A&R honchos at several major labels. This Bristol, Tennessee-based outfit is expected to take their unique blend of "southern grunge-metal" to the next level with the release of their follow-up album "When the laughing stops". Before hitting the studio, Shattered Bliss road-tested some of their extra-hard driving new material- songs like,"NFC", "Love Hate" and "Can't find your way"- on respective rockers in clubs throughout Georgia and Tennessee. Fueled by the passionate bond that connects this band to its audiences, Shattered Bliss experienced an explosion in their fan base and endless premature requests for the new CD! At the same time, With "Picking Up the Pieces" still circulating. The guys are feeling optimistic about the future.

" 'When the laughing stops' is even more accessible lyrically as well as musically than the first album." says Dodson. "It's grittier. There's more of a live vibe."

Adds Ostrander, "Our dream is to bring our music into the mainstream, and to find a home with a label that truly 'gets' us as artists. Hopefully based on what we're hearing 'When the laughing stops' is the ammunition we need to finally go for it!"
